  • Physical Description
    Objects - 1 shaped triangular silver trowel. The inscription is surrounded by a decorative band of leaf and strapwork. The haft rises from an octofoil base to a handle section which is plain followed by an octofoil section decorated with strapwork, topped by a cast foliate ring and a bulbous fineal engraved with leaf work. - 32.5 x 9.4 cm.

    In the 1880s silver mining in Australia was booming with huge finds at Broken Hill. By 1891 Broken Hill was the third largest city in New South Wales.
