    Thomas Jamison (1745-1811), surgeon, was born in England and educated at the University of Dublin. In 1777 he received a warrant as a naval surgeon and was appointed surgeon's mate of the Sirius, arriving at Sydney with the first fleet in 1788. From March 1788 he was assistant surgeon at Norfolk Island and at Sydney from 1799 to 1800. Jamison was appointed surgeon-general of NSW, taking up the commission in 1802. He was granted land on the Nepean River and acquired further land at Georges River and South Creek. Jamison returned to England in 1809 and died in London in 1811. [ADB 2]
    Sir John Jamison (1776-1844), surgeon and landowner, was born in Ireland, son of Thomas Jamison (1745-1811). He was educated at University of St. Andrews and served as physician various ships in the Royal Navy. On the death of his father he inherited properties in Sydney and arrived at Sydney in 1814 to take up his land. He accompanied Governor Macquarie on his visit to the interior in 1815 and in 1818 explored the Warragamba River. He was one of the founders of the Bank of New South Wales in 1817. He was appointed to the old Legislative Council (1837-1843). In 1825 he built 'Regentville' on his property at Penrith. 'Regentville' was a model property which included vineyards, an irrigation scheme and a woollen mill. Jamison also owned pastoral and grazing properties. [ADB 2]
    Robert Thomas Jamison (1829-1878), pastoralist and parliamentarian, was born at Penrith, son of Sir John Jamison. He was educated at Sydney College. He was a clerk in the Legislative Council offices for a short period. Jamison inherited a share of his father's estate including a pastoral property on the Namoi River. He was elected a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly for the seats of Cook and Westmoreland (1856-1859) and The Nepean (1859-1860).[ref:ADB 2]
