Scope and Content
The sketches include topographical views, studies of figures, Australian Aborigines, trees, plants, and a snake.
The following list is incomplete, many works are not titled and only contain annotations written in Sir T.L. Mitchell's hand
15. [Three male figures] For fire brand scene / drawn on purpose / a portrait. Colour keys for the men's clothing have been written beneath each image
16. AM July 19th 1833. Pencil sketch of trees are on the reverse
22. 5 Sept. Mt Barnard. Other sketches are on the reverse
23. Mt Barnard 9 ? 1846
33. On the Murray 27 May. Drawings are also on the verso
39. Box tree Lake George / 7 Aug. A poem about the author's desire to see and experience England again probably by Mitchell, is written beneath the image. T.L Mitchell was at Lake George in August 1828 - see his "Field, note and, Sketchbook, 1828-30" at ML C 42
