1883; 'Prince Alfred Hospital. Resolutions passed Feb. 19th 1883 Hon. E. Knox', being leather bound presentation copy illuminated by John Sands, with autographs of the directors of the hospital. Address reads: 'Prince Alfred Hospital. At a Meeting of the Directors held on Monday the 19th February, 1883, the following Resolutions were unanimously carried. In view of the approaching departure for Europe of their Colleague the Honorable Edward Knox his fellow workers the Members of this Board, desire to record their deep sense of the value of his services to the Hospital and in connection with it, to the Community. Mr Knox's untiring and watchful care as Treasurer of the hospital and his able supervision of its expenditure and monetary affairs: involving for so many years, the outlay of large sums contributed by individuals and the Government, and to his prudent advice and assistance at the Meetings of the Board, his Colleagues feel that they and the Institution which they represent are in the highest degree indebted. That the preceeding Resolution be entered in the Journal of the Board, and that a Copy be signed by the Directors, and presented to Mr. Knox personally by them.' (Call No.: A 6909)
