Sydney Levine graduated in dentistry from Sydney University in 1937. During World War 2 he saw service with the AIF Dental Unit in New Britain and New Guinea. After the war he returned to private practice in Sydney. For ten years, beginning in 1965, he was a full-time lecturer in Dentistry at Sydney University. He also wrote and lectured on 19th century Australian dental history. He died in 2004.
