  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    As part of the post-war reconstruction in the 1940s, James McGirr was appointed Minister for Housing in NSW. Between 1943 and 1949 the Housing Commission built 12,335 homes and a further 10,000 were under construction or in the planning stages. -- Reference: Celebrating 60 years of homes for the people / NSW Department of Housing. These cottages can be rented or purchased (with parked Dodge car) ; Special timber framed cottages (EU3) consists of three (3) bedrooms, large sleepout, living room, kitchen, etc.
