  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Roger Hollinrake, English organist, first met Alfred and Mirrie Hill on a visit to Sydney in 1957. Hollinrake returned to Sydney in January 1960 for an Organ Convention. In the following months, while Hollinrake was teaching at Auckland University, Alfred Hill sent him a number of manuscripts of organ compositions for his advice and comment. Their collaboration came to an abrupt end with Hill's death in October 1960. [Source: letter from Roger Hollinrake to Mitchell Library, 12 Jan. 2004, on file]
