Niuafo'ou is one of the northern outliers of Tonga. In 1946, a volcanic eruption on the island prompted the Tonga Government to evacuate the entire population to Tongatapu. In 1949, about half were settled on neighbouring Eua. In 1958, the rest of the population returned to Niuafo'ou - Scope and ContentThe register is numbered F210
