  • General note

On the reverse of the sketch is a note, (possibly in Sir William Dixson's hand), that elaborates on the context of this drawing; "Sketch made at Kennedy's first Camp, Rockingham Bay / with a note in Kennedy's handwriting in the right hand corner / For account of his Expedition & death by the natives / See McGillivaray's Narrative of the Voyage of H.M.S. / Rattlesnake p. 82 / The figures are Captain Owen Stanley & Kennedy"
Towards each corner of the drawing are two slits in the paper (8 in total), that suggests something was mounted onto the reverse of image.
