    A Magnificent spectacle caption -- This photograph commemorates the 250th performance in Australia of The Sign of the Cross, a biblical melodrama in which Knight played the lead role of Marcus, the proudest, noblest man in Rome. Knight's popularity in this role attracted large audiences throughout the shows tour. Many travelled from country towns with one group even travelling from Broken Hill to Adelaide!
