VOLUME 1 (C 235/1):
H.M.S. RESOLUTION
1 Jan 1801 - 22 July 1802; Predominantly describes weather conditions, places of anchor, ships encountered. Includes a list of officers; description of places visited such as Brittany, Isles of Glenan, and Port Louis; names of the squadron for the West Indies; table of bearings and distances; and diagrams of an unnamed town, location of places near Governor Keppell's house, Crooked Island Passage, and points of a compass.
CALCUTTA
24 April 1803 - 31 Dec 1804; [front to back] Describes nature and direction of journey, weather conditions, number of convicts, deaths on board, bearings, places of anchor, religion, and general observations. Includes list of officers, royal marine forces, master mates, and 'Names of the officers of the Civil Establishment going to the intended settlement of Pt. Philip New S. Wales'; drawings of coastal profiles, Praya Bay, and Cape Verde Islands. [back of the volume] Several tables showing places, latitude and longitude, and bearings; comments on the red flag and places visited such as Simons Bay and Cape Town; inscriptions from the library of Antonian Monks off Sebastian; and a plan of area around Viceroys Palace.

VOLUME 1
The volume has been used from front to back.
The original cover of this journal is loose and stored at the front of this volume.
Added to the back of this volume is a letter in Knopwood's hand addressed to 'My Dear Friend'. Inside the back cover is a note about the laying of the foundation stone of St. David's Church, Hobart Town, in 1817.
VOLUME 2
This volume consists of looseleaf sheets that have been added at an unknown date and has 'Journal of Proceeding 1803-1804' on printed on spine.
