Some diaries have additional loose sheets inserted into volume.
"G.B. White" signature appears on reverse of front cover or front endpapers of B 598, B 599, B 601, and B 626.
Initials "G.B.W." appear in black text on front cover of B 599.
B 598, B 601, and B 602 are reversible as they have been used from front to back.
B 604-2 and B 605 are covered in canvas.
B 612 provides a commentary on journalising and G.B. Boyle reflects on his life.
B 616 to B 619 and B 620 to B 628 are written printed diaries titled, Lett's Diary or Bills Due Book and Almanacks.
On the reverse of the front endpapers of B 617 and B 618 are inscriptions relating to the authenticity of the volumes, "This is the journal for the year [1864 and 1865 respectively] mentioned in the affidavit of George Boyle White sworn before me this GV 15th day of August 1866 & which was exhibited to me at the time of swearing such affidavit Geo Vindin Adminr for Affidavits ... "
B 620 is a Lett's Diary for 1866 that was used for the year 1867.
B 626 is covered in brown paper with "1873 / Journal" handwritten in black on front cover.
B 656 contains a handwritten index for "Journal 1854" (B 608).

This collection was listed as part of the Sesquicentenary of Responsible Government in NSW 1856-2006 Project.

The years are handwritten in black ink at the front of each volume.
Some volumes are signed "G.B. White".
Most volumes have "Mensor" before the date written on the front endpapers or inside front cover.
