  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Eliza Lund Mitchell and Oliver Mitchell travelled to Australia in 1885 with their two children Alice (b. 1882) and Ernest (b. 1876). They later returned to Yorkshire, but Ernest returned to Australia in 1899, where he pursued his profession as a photographer in Perth. He became the official photographer to the Governor of Western Australia. In 1826 he bought a farm 'Roselm' in partnership with Bob Stachan. He retired to Claremont and died in 1959.
