    Contains: (1) Collector's notes, 1923-1984 [M 2597]. Includes field notes, correspondence, lists of mammals collected in New Guinea, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Fiji. Subjects include: Hubert Wilkins' Australia and Islands expedition, 1923-1924; expeditions to Malaysia, 1967, 1974; Cambridge Sumatra expedition, 1984; and mammals of Oceania and Eastern New Guinea. (2) Library manuscripts [M 2597]: 'List of mammals from the Indian Ocean Islands Andaman, Christmas, Cocos-Keeling and Nicobar', 1969 / John Edwards Hill; and 'Upper molar alveolar patterns of some Muridae in Queensland and PNG' / Elizabeth Knox. (3) Michael R. Oldfield Thomas correspondence from Australasian scientists and collectors, 1868-1928 [M 2597-2598]. Subjects include collecting expeditions to Australia, Malaya, Indonesia and the Pacific and dispatch of skulls and other specimens. Correspondents include Wilfred Alexander, Tom Carter, Charles De Vis, Joseph Fletcher, Charles Hedley, Frederic Jones and Sir George Hubert Wilkins, 1923-1927.
