Church Missionary Society was founded in 1799. Its New Zealand Mission was established in 1814. C.M.S. grants to New Zealand ceased in 1903 although stipends were paid to its missionaries until 1914

Includes: letterbook, 1879-1914 containing copies of outgoing letters from the C.M.S. secretaries; correspondence and other papers received from New Zealand, 1880-1914 dealing with activities of missionaries in New Zealand; correspondence and other papers received from N.Z., 1879-1914 re the work of the New Zealand Mission Board, cessation of C.M.S. grants in 1903 and work of missionaries; and precis books, 1880-1914 of incoming letters for each meeting of the Group Committee
