    St. Joseph's College at Mill Hill was founded in 1866 by Herbert Vaughan. In 1886 it established a Maori Mission within the Diocese of Auckland which has continued to the present day
  • Scope and Content
    The records consist chiefly of the letters of the Bishop of Auckland and the early missionaries to Cardinal Vaughan and the Father Superior at Mill Hill giving a detailed account of the growth and problems of the Mission in its first twenty years
