Emigrant to Western Australia in 1889. His marriage certificate of 1873 states that he was a wheelwright and was married in Lincolonshire

1) Letters, 25 Oct. to 13 Dec. 1889, by Thomas Robinson to his wife describing his voyage to Western Australia on the Cuyco. He arrived at Albany on 1 Dec. and describes his lodgings, houses and labour conditions. After calling at Vasse he arrived at Bunbury where he comments on the townspeople and the layout of the town. His final letter is from the property of a Mr Buckley at Dardanup Park. 2) Family tree of "The Townsends of Buckminster, Leicestershire", marriage certificate of John Townsend and Jane Machin, daughter of John and Jane Townsend, born 29 July 1847; and the marriage certificate of Thomas Robinson and Ann Townsend 21 June 1873
