    (1) Bedfordshire Quarter Sessions records, 1801-1878, giving names of convicts and ages, offences, sentences and disposals. (2) Selections from Bedford Union in-letters 1837-58, mainly from the Poor Law Commission, London, and the Land and Emigration Commission, London. (3) Letters and lists 1841-46, re the property of J.C.S. McDouall and W. McDouall, in N.S.W. and N.Z. (4) Correspondence, 1818-1823, of William Wilshere as Chairman of the Bedfordshire Quarter Sessions. (5) Letters, 1774 and 1780, from Jemima, Marchioness Gray and Baroness Lucas, regarding the ship Adventure and the death of Captain Cook. (6) Letters and other papers 1793-1841, of Samuel Whitbread, M.P., re the transportation of convicts and the deposition of Governor Bligh. Correspondents include W. Roscoe, J. Jorgenson, E. Abbott, R.H. Bennett, and T.F. Palmer. (7) Document 1827, re land grants to settlers in N.S.W. and Van Diemen's Land; letter 1892, from Albert H. Culpin, re Broken Hill strike and maritime disturbances.
