  • Scope and Content
    1. Colonial Experience [at] T. Royal in 3 Acts. Written by W.H. Cooper, altered and revised by R. Roberts, Dec. 1871. Theatre Royal Melbourne. Characters include Matthew and Joseph Grudge, Peter Shrivel, and Captain Versatile Fluent (pp. 1-27).
    2. Octoroon. Act 5 Scenes 1-4. Completed by R. Roberts, 1872. Characters include McClosky, Dido, Zoe, Swamp, and Scudder.
  • General note

The play, Octoroon, could be based on the four act play of that title written by Dion Boucicault. The dramatis personae are similar, however, the excerpt in this volume is for Act 5, an act that does not exist in the Boucicault version.
The volume was repaired at an unknown date.
