  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Edward (Ted) Brodie-Mack was born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1879. He worked as a cartoonist for the New Zealand Freelance and then in Australia for The Bulletin, Smith's Weekly and later as a sporting and political cartoonist for the Sydney Truth and Sun. He then joined Consolidated Press where he remained for twenty-six years and during this time he also drew comics for the NSW Bookstall Publishing Company.
    Brodie-Mack created Kazanda, a jungle queen with psychic powers, it was the first Australian comic book star to enter the American market.
