  • System of arrangement
    Chronological order
  • General note

Many of the drawings appear to have been part of a collection or album as they are mounted on sheets of paper with decorative borders and are of similar size.
The inscriptions on the drawings are in different handwriting styles.
Some of the drawings have illustrations on the reverse.
No. 1 is similar to "Black Rock Hill, from the North. 1843" No. 12 of the Royal Empire Society's sketches by Edward Charles Frome (FM4/217) suggesting that one is a copy of the other. However, the style of "Reaping Hook Hill" is very similar to that of a watercolour initialled "W.A.C." in the Mitchell Library.
No. 2 is probably drawn by W.A. Cawthorne as the inscription appears to be in Cawthorne's manuscript hand - E.I. 27/5/1985
Nos. 1a-b, 2, and 15b are titled on the same sheet as the drawing.
    Nos. 9b, 11c, 14b, 17b, 18b, 23, 24, and 25 are missing.
Nos. 11a and b are drawn on the one sheet.
Nos. 17 and 19 are watermarked.
Nos. 20 and 21 have a decorative border on the reverse in preparation for the mounting of a drawing.
Nos. 27-31 are mounted on cardboard, are finished with a glaze, and have hand-written inscriptions in pencil on the reverse.
No. 32 is mounted on cardboard.
    Digital order no:Album ID : 823549
  • Signatures / Inscriptions

Most drawings are titled and dated below image on mount. Some drawings have an additional title on the reverse.
    Three drawings are initialled, "W.A.C"
  • Attributions / conjectures

No. 31 Almost certainly "Maria Creek", Kingston-SE, SA, to distinguish from Kingston on Murray. The creek was so named because of the wreckage from the ship Maria, July 1840.
