    Drawings - 1 watercolour drawing on clay, stored in black wooden rectangular frame with oval window at front covered in glass and raised gilt metal rim. At the centre top of frame is a clasp in the shape of roses with leaves and two rings for hanging - 8 x 6.4 cm. (image, sight) ; 15.3 x 13.4 cm. (frame)

    Titled and dated from a handwritten note that accompanies the drawing and was affixed to the reverse of frame; "This profile / is the exact resemblance / of my Dr son Ellis Bent in / May 1809 - when he left us / to go to New - South - Wales as / Judge Advocate in that Colony / as his gift it is invaluable As / (his heart-broken Mother) it reminds / me of his affectionate remembrance / of me & the many virtues e possess's / But Alas! / He is now no more since / it pleas'd God! to take him I trust to / a glorious immortality in a better / World on the 10th of Novbr 1815 by his / death an afflicted Wife - & five orphan / Children are left to lament a loss / that can never be supplied to them / His parents - & family - must ever / deplore this aweful dispensation. / As a Son & Husband - A Father / Brother [Friend] he has left / few Equal None Superior. / "The Wind Whistles o'er / his grass-grown grave / but all is peace / Within / H.B."
