Shows Blues Point Road, St. Leonards Public School, St. Leonards Drapery Warehouse, Christ Church Anglican Church, St. Francis Xavier's Presbytery in foreground, looking towards Lavender Bay, McMahons Point and Milsons Point, with Sydney Harbour in the distance. Probably taken from the balcony of a house off Blues Point Road (opp. school house) which has a distinctive `Observatory' tower.

Similar to B. O. Holtermann & Charles Bayliss' panorama of Sydney Harbour taken in 1875 from `Holtermann's Tower' (now SCEGS Shore School). See also J. Degotardi's panorama taken ca. 1870 which was probably photographed from the tower of the same `Observatory' house (Location Number: XV1/ca.1870/2).
