  Thought to be a view painted on the estate of Captain James Shoobert, 1840. Capt Shoobert's estate - known as Heron farm - was formerly part of the Paulsgrove estate located on the south-eastern flanks of Mount Keira. Shoobert (1805-1876) was involved in the coastal trade between Illawarra and Sydney. View was previously attributed to Maurice Felton, however there was no concrete evidence to support this.   Original frame said to have been made from wood taken from the Shoobert estate; the wood, however, appears to be a Tasmanian tulip wood. It is possible that the frame was made locally from imported timber. (Frame No.183, item re-framed for the Illawarra exhibition, 1994)
