Tom Giuffre was born in Sicily in 1912 and arrived in Sydney in 1928. He went on to have a successful business career in manufacturing. He formed Popolare Metal Stamping Company to manufacture lipstick containers. Popolare purchased Aldus Plastics in 1958 and was in turn purchased by Cope Allman (Aust.) in 1965. He was the inaugural President of Co.As.It (Comitato Assistenziale Italiano) from 1968-1984. Reference: Giuffre papers, Mitchell Library.
