    James McKelvie ('Mac') Owen (1906-1974) was born in Wellington, New Zealand, the fourth child of Charles Owen and his wife, Caroline Mabel, nee McKelvie. The Owen family left New Zealand for England in 1907 and emigrated to Australia in 1927. He worked on a sheep and cattle property at Upper Rouchel, near Aberdeen, N.S.W., owned by Colonel Donald Cameron, from January 1928 to mid-1930. James married Alice Amy Rann in 1932. He served with the Australian Army during World War II and attained the rank of Warrant Officer II. In 1953 he, Alice and their two children went to live in England.

    Donald Cameron (1877-1950) was a highly decorated officer in the A.I.F. who retired as a Lieutenant-Colonel from the Australian Military Forces in 1933. Paul Scriven is the husband of Carol M. Scriven, daughter of James McKelvie Owen.
