N. H. Case was an English assayer who came to Australia about 1896, aged c.20. He worked in copper mines in Queensland and near Girilambone, N.S.W. In September 1901 he went to Broken Hill, N.S.W. where he worked as an assayer - Scope and ContentPress copy letter book, 11 September 1899 - 15 July 1904 containing letters mainly to members of his family regarding personal and family affairs, with some description of life in Sydney, Girilambone and Broken Hill
