Jean Vardon Raine (nee Ralston) married real estate agent Tom Raine Raine in Sydney in 1889. In 1899 they moved to 'Guyong' at Double Bay. - Scope and ContentThree albums of crests collected and arranged by Jean Vardon Raine about 1910. Many of the crests have been cut from envelopes, letterheads and other stationery, and arranged into groups. Includes crests from royalty, ships, regiments, clubs, companies, hotels, municipalities, societies, schools, universities, churches and government departments. Most are from New South Wales and the United Kingdom. Includes two cards of crests which were exhibited at the 1851 Exhibition and crests from stationery used during the period of mourning for the deaths of Albert, the Prince Consort, and Arthur, Prince of Connaught, Queen Victoria's son. Albums 1 and 3 are inscribed 'Jean V. Raine "Guyong", Edgecliffe'; album 1 is dated 'May, 1910'; album 3 includes a list, in Raine's hand, of family mottos of dukes of the United Kingdom.
