    Sydney Ure Smith, 1887-1949, publisher and artist, pioneer of art publishing in Australia. Publisher of quarterly, Art in Australia, he also wrote books on Australian artists, including Streeton, Lambert, Gruner and Heysen. President of Society of Artists, 1921-1948. He received an OBE for service to art in 1937
