  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Elizabeth Tierney, nee Rheinberger, was born in Frauenstein, Germany in 1854. The family migrated to Australia in 1855 eventually settling in the Mudgee district on a farm at Eurunderee, NSW. In 1878 Elizabeth married John Tierney, teacher at Eurunderee Public School, who was commemorated in the poem 'Eurunderee' by his former pupil Henry Lawson.
