William Gilbert Thompson (1844-1910), son of William and Jane Thompson, was Postmaster of Bathurst from c.1866 to 1908. He married Jane Amelia, daughter of Alexander and Lydia Fraser, 1805-1870. The latter was a daughter of Rev. Henry Fulton, 1761-1840, who arrived in New South Wales in 1800
