Includes remarks on the voyage relating to marine life, oceanic birds, weather and astronomy. In New South Wales, includes notes on flora and entomology, the Botanic Gardens, Sydney, and places visited near Sydney including the Blue Mountains and Illawarra region. Includes abstract of log of voyage from London to Sydney, June-September 1862, and Sydney to London, 14 December 1862-March 1863 and abstract of journal in New South Wales
