    John Lhotsky, physician and naturalist, arrived in Sydney in 1832. In 1834 he made an expedition to the Australian Alps. He subsequently worked in the Survey Office in Hobart and in 1838 sailed for London. His book 'A journey to the Australian Alps' was published in Sydney in 1835.
  • Scope and Content
    Photocopy of original notes based on a journey from Sydney to the Australian Alps. The notes do not cover the early part of the expedition, which set out from Sydney 10 Jan. 1834, and go beyond the period covered in Lhotsky's book, referred to above, which ends in the middle of a sentence on 18 Feb. 1834. The notes include some Aboriginal place names.
