Charles Christopher Godden (1876-1906) after training at Moore College, Sydney, 1897-1899, joined the Melanesian Mission of the Church of England Sep. 1900. He was stationed at Lolowai, on the island of Aoba in the Northern New Hebrides. In December 1905 he married Eva Dearin (1883-1964). He was murdered by a repatriated Kanaka on Aoba Oct. 1906.
