Peregrine Langton Massingberd, born 1780, was the second son of Bennett Langton. He married an heiress called Massingberd and adopted the name. His great grand-daughter, Mrs J. Massingberd Campbell, prepared the transcript - Scope and ContentExtract from letter from J. Massingberd Campbell to Judith Baskin, 27 November 1967 regarding the Langton and Massingberd families. Partial transcript of a diary, 1832-1833, kept during a visit to Tasmania containing description of voyage from Gravesend to Hobart on the Edward Lombe, June - Dec. 1832, and settlements in Tasmania, 1833. It includes a reference to John Glover
