  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Fred Harold Tomlins, farmer of Cobar, New South Wales, enlisted on 22 August, 1914 and embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A16 Star of Victoria, 20 October, 1914. He served as a signaller in C Squadron, 1st Australian Light Horse, at Gallipoli and in Egypt. He was made a Corporal 1 May 1915, and promoted to Sergeant 10 June 1916. He returned to Australia 15 November 1918
