  Robert Lowe, lawyer and politician, was member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 1843-1849. He was one of the leaders of resistance to the British government renewing transportation of convicts in the late 1840's. -- Reference: Australian Dictionary of Biography. Vol.2, 1788-1850.   D.H. Deniehy, born in Sydney in 1828, was an orator, man of letters, lawyer and politician. He was articled to N.D. Stenhouse in 1844, and admitted as a solicitor in 1851.
