    Noel Glendenning Linton, a clerk of McMahons Point, North Sydney was born in Palmerston, New Zealand. He enlisted in Sydney, May 1916 and embarked on Transport A 74 Marathon, 31 Oct. 1916. He was a sapper in the 15th Field Company Engineers and served in France and Belgium. He was wounded in action 26 Sep. 1917 and returned to Australia on Transport A29 Suevic, 21 Apr. 1918
