  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    John Thomas (Jack) Hutton was a farmer from Carnsdale, New South Wales. He enlisted on 2 Oct. 1915 and embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A15 Star Of England, 8 Mar. 1916 at the age of 26. Hutton served with the 17th Battalion in Egypt in 1916 and France and Belgium, 1916-1918. After the signing of the armistice he was billeted for a time in France and returned 16 Dec. 1918 to England to work as a clerk in the Finance Department, returning to Australia on 25 September 1919. Jack Hutton also served in World War II. He died in Sydney in 1958
