  Frederick Carrington Burgis, clerk of Kogarah, NSW, embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A35 Berrima, 26 June 1915 and served as a private with the 20th Battalion in Gallipoli. He was sent to England with shell shock Oct. 1915, was diagnosed with neurasthenia in Mar. 1917 and returned to Australia on the Beltana

  Describes arriving in Egypt, with graphic descriptions of his experiences in August 1915 while fighting at Gallipoli, concluding with arrival in Fulham Hospital, Hammersmith with shell shock
