  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Herbert Vincent Berry, a carpenter of Gladesville, Sydney was born in Wyong, New South Wales. He enlisted in the AIF, 14 June 1915 aged 23 years and served with the 8th Field Ambulance, Australian Army Medical Corps in France. In Dec. 1918 he was mentioned in dispatches, and was hospitalised with trench feet. On 21 Sept. 1917 he brought a wounded man in under heavy shelling, was seriously wounded himself and for his actions was awarded the Military Medal
