    L. V. Bartlett, an accountant was born in Huntingdon, England and served as a signaller on a troopship at the landing on Gallipoli and as a telephonist at the evacuation with the 4th Battalion. Later he served in France as a lieutenant with the 56th Battalion. He was wounded in Bullecourt 17 May 1917 and gassed 17 Apr. 1918, and returned to Australia on the Niagra, arriving 11 Jan. 1919
