    Douglas Hope Johnston was active in arranging for the erection of a memorial to Governor Phillip outside St. Mildred's Church, Bread Street, London, which was unveiled in 1932. As a member of the Empire Club, he was also interested in the national celebration days of member countries of the British Empire
