James Sloan owned North Logan, on the Lachlan River near Cowra. He married Marion Stoddart, whose sister, Helen, married Archibald Campbell of Sorn Bank, near Bathurst

(A) Letters received 1844-1858, including letters to James Sloan and his wife Marion Sloan, from A. Campbell, G. Campbell, J. S. Campbell, H. Hamilton, A. Hordern, A. Ranken, and T. Ranken concerning inter alia sheep, cattle and the discovery of gold near Bathurst, with a letter from R. Watt re school at Cowra, 1849.
