    Robert Savage (1818-1888) arrived in Australia, 1838, and settled in the Nangeela Valley, Western Victoria, as a pastoralist, 1839. He was responsible, either wholly or in part, for the invention of various agricultural implements. He was a member of the Land Tenure Reform League of Victoria and published a tract entitled Political Economy for the Land Tenure League, 1873

Personal papers of Savage and Caldwell families, 1833-1892, including baptismal certificate, marriage certificate, miscellaneous papers of the Savage family, and of Robert Caldwell. III. Papers relating to Robert Savage's inventions: 'Improvements in Reaping and Reaping and Binding Machines' (1873); 'Letters patent for improvements in reaping and reaping and binding machines' (1873); 'The Australian Earth Scoop and Elevator: Savage's Patent' (printed, 1884?). IV. Miscellaneous Items, 1885: Contract between N.S.W. Government and Thorsten Nordenfelt, civil engineer, for supply of guns, carriages and ammunition, 1885.
