Born at Wollongong, NSW, in the late 1840's, married Elizabeth Mary Dunne, one of the Dunne's of Netley. She was born at Goulburn in the early 1850's
  • Scope and Content
Letters (press copies) from 12th April-17th August 1881 are headed Cobham Lake, and those from 23rd Nov. 1881-4th Nov. 1886, Corona Station. Woodfield was apparently manager of these two properties in turn. Some of the letters are private, including descriptions of the country and conditions, and others are about station business. Notes on points of interest in the letters, made by a member of the Western Land Commission, have been inserted in the front of the volume. Both Cobham Lake and Corona were old Pastoral Lease properties north of Broken Hill, very extensive in area, which were affected by the Crown Lands Act of 1884
