  • General note

re 481. Tollbar keeper's house, Randwick Road: building was demolished in 1909, see: https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/115495783
Previously title for 467-468. was: 'Cooper Street [i.e. conflict here: J.Slom, watchmaker is listed as living at 93 Kippax Street (Sands 1900) or Randle Street (Sands 1905, 1910). Neither seems correct as the house on the corner is no.37 and these Sands eds. do not list the general store next door. The street is probably Cooper, Kippax or Randle Street, Surry Hills]'

Reader advised the Library that Postal Directories list Jacob Slom as residing at 33 Randle Street in 1902. Image 468 shows Jacob Slom's shop and Image 467 shows a building numbered 37. The following 1888 map shows Randle St with the corresponding building numbers, hence title was changed 19/12/2022
