  • General note

The view is from the end of Hyde Park (today near Whitlam Square) on South Head Road. Known now as Oxford Street, South Head Road met up with Woolloomooloo Road (now Darlinghurst Road and Macleay Street) and provided the main access to the villas on Woolloomooloo Hill. William Street as we know it today was a walking track up until 1845.
