    John Farrell (1851-1904), journalist and poet, was a contributor to The Bulletin and the chief influence on the literary career of Mary Gilmore. Harry F. Chaplin corresponded with Farrell's daughter, Olivia Macinante, who lived at Hurstville, N.S.W., concerning her father's literary papers.
