    Olive Cotton worked as a photographer for over 60 years. She worked with Max Dupain in his Sydney studio for many years, though they never collaborated. They briefly married in 1939. John McInerney was Cotton's brother-in-law from her second marriage to Ross McInerney. John McInerney worked as a doctor in Papua New Guinea in the 1940s
